Our “Great New Orleans Magazine Scavenger Hunt” is here! Our July cover feature is a month-long staycation adventure with something to do every single day. From enjoying a snoball to shopping along Magazine Street, bowling with friends or staying cool by the pool, there are plenty of activities for everyone. Participants can complete tasks from our suggested list (or use your own go-to places) and upload photos in order to be entered to win a special summer prize stay at The Chloe Hotel with an Oasis pool package for two! Support local businesses, have fun and embrace the summer despite the heat. It’s a win-win-win! Check out all of the information here.
Looking for something completely different to do? The Happy Little Trees immersive experience is part escape room, part interactive play, part arts event, and is unlike anything else. Presented by Tinkture Design at the Big Couch Theater in the Bywater now through Thursday, July 4, the experience brings participants on a journey to help PBS legendary artist Bob Ross while solving problems along the way. Take a trip into the painting and beyond. Each experience is approximately one hour long and is a great activity for a small group of friends or family. Find out more information and purchase tickets here.
The legend of escaped pup Scrim continues! The rescue team is currently waiting for assistance from a locator group out of Texas, but in the meantime is holding a special fundraiser benefitting Zeus’ Rescues. Volunteer designers have been submitting their Scrim-on-the-loose t-shirt ideas. Submit your own idea by July 3, with a winner to be chosen on July 4 at 8 p.m. with pre-sales for tees starting afterwards. The winning designer will receive a $100 gift card to Francolini’s. Check out all the details and submissions here.
It’s frozen drink season! For this July 4, we’re obsessed with Bourré’s to-go fresh fruit frozen daiquiris, available in half-gallon and gallon size. Pre-order for the weekend now, celebrate and stay cool!
Finally, following the theme of “something different,” this “tomato gin and tonic” has truly captured our attention. Take advantage of fresh Louisiana tomatoes and whip up a batch for your next DIY happy hour for summer get-togethers.
