Bayou Boogaloo is this weekend. This year’s festival will feature three days of music, food and fun with special land (for those that enter by foot) or water access tickets (for intrepid canoe, kayak or party barge attendees). In addition to great musical acts, there will be a kids’ activity area, a comedy stage, yoga and more. So, grab your sunscreen, your favorite chair and hit the bayou. I’ll be selling beer near the comedy stage with all tips benefitting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. See you there!
Summer is a great time to get growing. Uptown Provisions has a wide selection of succulents and cacti that are the perfect way to get started if you’re unsure of the color of your thumb. Crazy Plant Bae may become your plant go-to guru. They offer plant sales as well as plant design, workshops, events and more. If you’re looking to connect with other gardeners, learn about composting or volunteer to help raise greens and veggies, check out Sprout NOLA. There’s always something growing and going on.
