GiveNOLA Day is Tuesday, May 7. It’s your chance to donate, if you are able, to more than 1,000 non-profit organizations across the city. An initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, the annual event raises much needed funds for efforts to improve the quality of life of New Orleanians through community work, improvements, education, outreach and more. If you are across the lake or looking to get away for the day, the Southern Hotel is hosting “Blush & Bashful: An Afternoon in Pink” this Saturday, 2 to 5 p.m. The event is a celebration of all things “Steel Magnolias” with plenty of bubbles, rosé, light bites plus a pop-up market and more. The annual Champagne Stroll hosted by the Magazine Street Merchants Association is this Saturday, May 11, 6 to 9 p.m. Running the entire length of Magazine Street, it’s the perfect time to check out all the latest local shops, boutiques and art galleries have for spring, pick up a gift for Mother’s Day (or yourself), enjoy refreshments, stop for a bite and soak up live music and entertainment.
