Week of November 27: Continue to Shop Local for the Holidays

Shop (local) ‘Til You Drop!

Sip & Shop kicks off this Thursday, November 30, 5 to 7 p.m. at The Rink on Prytania Street. In addition to great local holiday shopping from stores such as The Garden District Book Shop, Liam John, PamelaDennis, Judy’s and Maisonette, shoppers can enjoy plenty of food and drink. The event continues each Thursday through December 21. Plus, Santa himself makes a special appearance this Saturday and Sunday, December 2 and 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. just intime for kids to tell him their special holiday wishes (plus photo ops for all). It’s a one-stop win-win!

Shoppers on the north shore can enjoy a special night of local businesses and vendors in Old Mandeville at the “Sips of the Season Stroll” event on Friday, December 1, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Along with shops and stops, a special one-of-a-kind mug for imbibing refreshments of all kinds will be available, plus food trucks and live entertainment.

Uptown, Val’s on Freret Street is hosting two holiday markets, Saturday, Dec. 2 and 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with local artists, vendors, vintage items and plenty of great food for purchase. Continue the Freret Street shopping party at the Freret Market, also on Dec. 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are garden, art, farmer and flea vendors, plus pet adoptions, live music and more.

Magazine Street transforms into a holiday shopping wonderland on Saturday Dec. 2, with its winter “Sipping & Strolling & Shopping” event, 6 to 9 p.m. There will be holiday sales, complimentary bubbles, live music, entertainment and more.

Artist Ellen Macomber is hosting a holiday pop-up event Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3, 12 to 4 p.m. with unique creations from New Orleans artists, makers and shakers!

Paradigm Gardens is hosting a special Holiday Market and Concert on Sunday, Dec. 3. The market, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature art and craft vendors, a special brunch menu, live music and more (RSVP required in advance). The concert, 6 to 8 p.m., will showcase holiday classics along with farm-to-table food selections for purchase.
