Week of Sept. 30: Spooky Season, Tarot Cards and Cats

Spooky season officially kicks off this week and Toups Family Meal is celebrating with their latest drive to bring some Halloween fun to local families. The Toups family is delivering 500 pumpkins and decorating kits to families across the area. If you would like to sign up to receive a kit or are interested in volunteering time or resources, head over to their Instagram page for more information! It will be a frightfully good time.

Persephone the Hearse is back at Gracious Bakery on St. Charles Avenue to read your tarot cards and give you a (not-so) scary good time. October pop-ups are held Friday through Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the oaks. And while you’re there, grab some Gracious goodies to fuel the fun.

NOLA Neighborhood Cats debuted the perfect ‘fit for the fall/Halloween season with a special cat-o-lantern design. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the tees and hoodies (also available in a selection of colors and styles) will go to local nonprofit Trap Dat Cat, which works to spay/neuter and rescue cats across the area.

The weather is perfect for getting outside to support local businesses. The first Rotary Club of New Orleans Riverbend Freret Market debuts this Saturday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Head on over for live music, arts and crafts, vintage items, farmers market, food and more.

Celebrate Molly’s at the Market’s big 5-0 with a special birthday cake cocktail concoction! Level up their frozen Irish coffee with a shot of Dough Ball Birthday Cake whiskey for a very happy day indeed.
