Week of September 25: Fried Chicken, Fall Markets and Shopping

Fried Festing

The Fried Chicken Festival returns this weekend! This Saturday and Sunday, vendors from across the area will fry up their best chicken, from nachos to tenders, hot wings, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, street tacos and more. This year’s event will make its debut at the New Orleans lakefront, Lakeshore Drive at Franklin Avenue, with more space and more than 50 restaurants and vendors. Plus, catch live music, cooking demos, celebrity chefs and more.

Scary Good Shopping

Get ready for spooky season with a quick trip across the lake to the fabulous Southern Hotel in Covington. This Friday, September 29, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., shoppers can enjoy local vendors, artists, crafts, make-up and more at the “Bootique Spooktacular” along with goody bags, live music and surprises.

Fall Market

She Comes in Peace salon and costume shop extraordinaire is celebrating the season change with a Fall Market this Saturday, September 30, 12 to 6 p.m. at their St. Claude Avenue shop. There will be local vendors, treats for purchase and a store-wide scavenger hunt. Shop local for a win-win!

Wednesday Special

If you’re looking for a mid-week treat, head over to Sidecar NOLA for Oyster Wednesday and enjoy a dozen ice cold oysters for $15 from 5 to 9 p.m. While there check out their tropical-inspired cocktail menu to make it an extra-special evening.
