What’s Trending: Wedding Dates, Tenniscore and more

Much like the seasons, wedding trends change and evolve each year. Not only do we love seeing some form trends get a resurgence, but we love seeing what’s going to catch on in the world of weddings. Here are a few of things we’ve had come across our desk.

BEST DAY TO GET MARRIED

In cities like New Orleans, it’s hard to be able to guess what the weather is going to be like on any given day. Especially during the summer, New Orleans weather can be as unpredictable as the fourth quarter of a Saints game. Recently, we received a press email from DressPreservation.com stating that the universal best day of the year to get married was Sept. 13. While September is the beginning of the -ber fall months, in New Orleans especially it’s still hot outside. Even though nationally we’re still in wedding season, if you’re looking to have an outdoor event in New Orleans just know that any date in September will most likely be warm. In addition to this universal list, the organization added in a few statistics on best day of the year to get married in specific cities. New Orleans, naturally, was on the list of wedding destinations and they said the best date to get married in New Orleans was Oct. 11. But much like the unpredictability of the weather even an October wedding could still be hot and humid. We’ve all worn shorts and summer attire to a Christmas Day or two in our lives – you just never know. (Kelly here: that’s my niece’s birthday, so of course I love that date, but I’m still not convinced.)

TENNISCORE

If you’ve been following the celebrity spottings and fashion fits that took center stage – next to the players, of course – during this last week of the U.S. Open then you know that tenniscore is topping the list for trends this year. Much like a few years ago when Coastal Grandma took over everything from weddings to fashion, tenniscore is having its place front and center on the court. Everything about tenniscore says chic and clean lines, while sporting very classic vibes perfect for anyone looking to add a little athleticism into your big day celebration. We think this is a versatile and fun vibe for any party, and we are here for incorporating it into your wedding. We’ll have more of a deep dive into tenniscore on the blog soon.

HOLY CANNOLI

One of the best things that we’ve seen on social media is the rise in popularity and hiring of a personal cannoli man for your wedding reception. Anyone that’s ever been to Angelo Broccato’s knows how delicious a cannoli can be. But adding that as an element and a walking piece of entertainment during your reception is genius. Couples on social media have been posting about their cannoli men serving up made-to-order and customizable cannolis to their friends and family during their reception. Not only does this work as entertainment value, but it could also easily lend itself to the other trend of gifting your guests a midnight snack on the way out of your party.
