Jax Frey is a local artist who just recently completed and sold her 10,000th piece of art. As a native New Orleanian, Frey loves to paint local iconic images. Although her paintings are small, 4 x 4 inches, they are packed with lots of color and fun. Frey describes her art as whimsical. Her subjects include beloved landmarks, such as St. Louis Cathedral, and those places and things, like Dixie Beer and Pontchartrain Beach, that "ain't here no mo'". Also making appearances are the Lucky Dog cart and many well-known New Orleans restaurants. Listen as Frey tells us about creating 60 original art pieces a week and about her upcoming art shows, including her participation in White Linen Night in August.
