Like a match made in heaven, the New Orleans food scene, from local fare to fine dining, pairs exquisitely with our cocktail and wine culture. But you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to get an elevated experience.
Enter Martin Wine Cellar’s grab-n-go wine kits. Known for its large array of delicious wines from all over the globe, and a knowledgeable team that knows their stuff, Martin has taken the guess work out of stocking your bachelorette trip or girl’s staycation in the city with affordable and varied options. The wine kit program was rolled out earlier this year. The kits come in four bottle or six bottle packs and are available for purchase at all four locations.
“Our wine kits vary in selection and prices each month,” a Martin representative told LTEC. “From regional to varietal selections, we try to keep it interesting.”
Interesting it is, as each store carries different selections picked out by the individual store’s staff each month. Just call the store and see what’s on the grab-n-go menu that month. The representative also told us they are working to coordinate the wine kit program with the store’s regular tasting events.
This grab-n-go option is perfect for a quick pick up before you drive off to the beach, if you’re planning a girl’s night in with your bridesmaids or even for a last-minute addition to an engagement party or stock the bar affair. (Kelly here: I’ve already planned, with a few of my friends, for each of us to pick up a kit from a different store location and bring them to our next bridesmaids meetup. It’s ideal in that I don’t have to spend what feels like hours going through rows of wine I know nothing about.)
Prices vary around $54.99 for the four packs and $69.99 for the six packs; and the store can hold a few kits if you call ahead in preparation.
If you’re interested in making your own selections for a personal “kit,” customers can take advantage of the store’s mix and match promotion, which includes a wide variety of wines to choose from and a 20 percent discount applied once you reach 12 bottles for a case.
