Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré (affectionately called Le Petit) is known for presenting fabulous plays in a historic building—and it has been doing so for 90 years. The theatre’s benefit on July 23, “Encore! – A Fête for Le Petit” was a party that would have suited even the biggest drama queens and kings.
At 6:30 p.m. the soirée started with a patron VIP backstage tour and champagne reception followed by hors d’oeuvres and cocktails served in the theatre’s lobby. Partygoers were then treated to a star-studded presentation featuring musical numbers from “Sugar Babies.”
Committee member Jackie Clarkson was joined by her daughter, actress Patricia Clarkson—back to support mom and the theatre her family has been involved with for many years. Honorary chairs included Lt. Governor Mitch and Cheryl Landrieu, while event co-chairs were Bryan Batt and Cathie Choppin Weinstein. Batt sang and hosted the live “fantasy” auction which included exciting items such as tickets to The Ellen Degeneres Show and New Orleans Saints games, as well as VIP tickets to Broadway shows in New York.
