In 2016, Lloyd Anthony D’Souza wanted a new adventure after 18 years in Los Angeles and decided to move to New York. On the first day of his job, Jessica Lea Carei was immediately curious about her new colleague, “Floyd.” As luck would have it, she learned his real name that very day when they ended up at the same birthday party. The two hit it off and continued to hang out after the party, visiting Ear Inn and some of Lloyd’s favorite speakeasies.
The two became best friends and also a couple, learning that they share a love of travel. One of their favorite getaways was the Cotswolds, and on the back patio of their cottage Lloyd proposed in a quiet moment. They waited a full weekend before telling anyone. They then visited Lloyd’s family to share the news, surprising his mother on her 70th birthday!
As they began planning their New Orleans wedding, Jess and Lloyd knew that they wanted to incorporate elements of the Cotswolds. Lonney Jane Productions created an English garden inside Livaudais Hall. Jess and Lloyd have long admired the care that the owner, a personal friend, dedicates to the venue and knew it would be the perfect place for their ceremony and reception.
On October 25, 2025, the space was bedecked in wildflowers and red poppies as the couple was pronounced husband and wife by Lloyd’s best friend from childhood. After their first kiss as newlyweds, they exited to “November Rain.” A friend surprised everyone by joining the wedding quartet and playing the famous guitar solo!
Between the wedding and reception, Lonney Jane transformed Livaudais Hall to resemble the outdoor space at Bacchanal, one of the couple’s favorite places. During cocktail hour, music by Satin Strings made everyone feel as if they were actually in that beloved courtyard. Bacchanal not only crafted libations for the cocktail hour, but also catered a delectable dinner. In addition, Turkey and the Wolf’s famous sandwiches, including the popular collard green melt, were on hand. During dinner, Deacon John’s joyful sounds set the tone for the unforgettable evening to come.
After dinner, Kinfolk Brass Band guided the party outside for a second line. When guests reentered the hall, they found the space transformed into an after-hours club! Lloyd and Jess kicked off this part of the evening with their first dance to “Strawberries” by Caamp. The couple had taken lessons and surprised everyone with a fully choreographed routine! Then DJ Paris kept the dance floor packed all night long. Afterwards, one more surprise awaited. Ever the New Yorkers, Jess and Lloyd had St. Pizza cap the celebration with late-night slices.
When the festivities were over, the newlyweds headed back to New York, where they enjoyed a relaxing weekend at a lovely new property called Inness. They live in Brooklyn, where Jess is Associate Director of Global Consumer Marketing at Spotify and Lloyd is Senior Vice President and Global Head of Video and Podcasts at Conde Nast.
