Nancy Fisher is a professional singer. Last year, Nancy won the World War II Museum's "Stage Door Idol" talent competition in New Orleans. The annual competition gives performers the chance to showcase their talents and vie for an opportunity to perform at the museum's Stage Door Canteen. Nancy explains how she got started in music and describes the day her professional career began. She encourages anyone who thinks they have talent to enter the competition: "A lot of people get discovered this way," Nancy says. The museum will hold the first auditions on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. until noon in the Stage Door Canteen. If you would like to hear the kind of talent the World War II Museum is looking for, listen as Nancy sings a few bars of the nostalgic tune, "The Very Thought of You."
