Yardi Gras Cocktails

 

There are so many fun and creative ways to make the best of this off-colored Carnival season. From house floats to fabulous door decorations or creative cocktails, we are up for the challenge.

Since city officials are encouraging us to Carnival in place, we will all need cocktails to fit the season. As restrictions at some of our favorite bars continue to change, we can save ourselves by having the knowledge of making our own cocktails at home.

Try these recipes to get you through the festive season. Please enjoy responsibly.

Pimm’s Cup

  • 2 ounces Pimm’s No. 1 (gin-based liqueur)
  • 3 ounces ginger ale
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 lemon slice
  • 1 cucumber slice

Pour Pimm’s into pint glass, fill with ice. Top with ginger-ale and garnish with a slice of lemon and a slice of cucumber.

Red Snapper

*A French Quarter favorite

  • 1 1/4 ounce whiskey
  • 1 ounce amaretto
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • Ice
  • 1 mint sprig

In a cocktail shaker, combine whiskey, amaretto, cranberry juice and half the shaker with ice – cap and shake. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish cocktail with a sprig of mint.
