NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Young Leadership Council (YLC) and Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) will launch Get Down & GiveNOLA at YLC Wednesday at the Square, a partnership to mobilize and inspire a new wave of donors at YLC’s annual Wednesday at the Square concert series. YLC and GNOF are excited to come together to demonstrate what we already know: everyone can make a difference; everyone can be a philanthropist! YLC and GNOF will harness the power of music to unite our community behind a common cause: multiplying our impact by giving together. While enjoying music from Deacon John and Trumpet Mafia, concert-goers will be able to pre-schedule GiveNOLA Day donations at giving stations located throughout Lafayette Square and learn more about this important initiative.

GiveNOLA Day, an initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, is a one-day online giving event. For 24 hours, everyone who loves Greater New Orleans can support their favorite local causes by donating to one or more of 700+ participating nonprofit organizations. In its inaugural year, more than $2.2 million was raised for more than 300 participating nonprofits from more than 19,000 donors on GiveNOLA Day. In 2018, its fifth year, $5.6 million was raised from over 48,000 gifts for 765 nonprofits. The goal is to raise $50,000 in pre-scheduled donations at the May 1 Get Down & GiveNOLA event.
