Young Leadership Council

Whenever you hear of the Young Leadership Council you think of incredible projects like lighting the Mississippi River Bridge and the young dynamos in our incredible city making positive things happen everyday! It is their 25th anniversary and we’re so proud to feature them on our cover for July. Thanks to Charlie Leche, the first president of the YLC; Dana Hansel, former president and honorary chair along with Charlie; Aimee Willem, gala co-chair and Joe I. Giarrusso III, the current board chair for gracing our cover. This year, the gala will be held August 13, at the Sheraton Hotel; the patron party is slated for 6 p.m., with the gala following at 7 p.m. They are celebrating a legacy of leadership by honoring the 2011 Role Model Class: 25 individuals who embody civic and leadership skills.

General admission tickets start at $175 and sponsorship levels are from $1,500 to $10,000 a table. The YLC has raised more than $25 million for projects in and around the New Orleans area and is worthy of our support! Join them by calling 585-1500.

A great book that would be an incredible present would be Ken Tate’s A Classical Journey: The Houses of Ken Tate (Images Publishing).
